This Album of 3 CDs ~ 'Gauri Sagar' ~ has 15 Gurbani Shabads from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. All these Shabads are mentioned under the Raag Gauri collection of Shabads in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Gauri has the largest number of compositions which covers about 14 per cent of the total number of Angs of the Scripture.
There are in total 12 forms of Raag Gauri Like: Gauri, Gauri Bairagan, Gauri Guaraeree , Gauri Chaetee, Gauri Poorbi, , Gauri Deepki, Gauri Poorbi Deepki, Gauri Bhi Sorath Bhi, Gauri Malwa, Gauri Maajh, Gauri Mala, Gauri Dakhnee.
The Shabads in the album 'Gauri Sagar' are sung in same raag as mentioned in Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji. In this Album ‘Gauri Sagar‘ there are 15 Shabads: 3 Shabads in Sudh Gauri and 11 Shabads in other forms of Gauri. Gauri Bairagan has 2 Shabads.
A Shabad “ Tum Gaavoh Maerae Nirbhao Kaa Sohila ” is mentioned in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji at two places Ang 12 & Ang 157 with minor differences, under different Raags: 'Gauri Deepki' & 'Gauri Poorbi Deepki'. Likewise these shabads have been sung in this album twice in different raags. |
